The world may not always recognize your greatness—but it’s still there. 🫶🏻 My friends and I are having a picnic right now and only making recipes from your book.

Dear Alix, I’m just one of many that pre-ordered and waited excitedly for your cookbook. I’ve moved to Sweden and your book was the first package I’ve ever received in my first own apartment! I’ve had so much fun baking your Salted Malted Brown Butter Cookies for my new friends and look forward to attempting everything (especially the Tiramisu Pavlova!). My mom flew to visit me and I found her flipping the pages of your book. I had the chance to tell her about the lovely, funny videos you make with Zoya.

I understand the numbers are really important, but I’d like to let you know how much I appreciate this thing you’ve put out into the world. In my eyes, you’ve done so well. Keep going!

Hey long time follower here since the tasty days. I’ll never forget watching you try and make a giant macaron. One disaster after another. But you never gave up and kept learning. You’ve got grit, and I think maybe this book is kind of like a giant macaron. Besides, what a boring episode it would have been if you just nailed in on the first or even second try anyway. Can’t wait to see what you cook up (or write up) next ❤️

I felt the exact same way when my book was published (I wasn’t expecting a NYT bestseller, but for other reasons). I see you! You are amazing 🤩 as is your work and that’s why I bought TWO copies. Rock on! 🤘

This isn’t a failure, Alix. It’s just one of the many steps towards what you want. And what you will get. Never happens as fast or as easily as you wanted.

I remember the day you posted the video dancing in the kitchen with a copy to “Messy”. That right there was success. Hang on to that moment.

And get ready to write your next book. Don’t stop until you get what you want. And keep fkn dancing 🥂🥂

Alex! I stumbled upon one of your Tasty videos years ago, and there was something that just glowed about you. I never really cared much for food content, but I somehow always found myself interested in what you were making. For my birthday this year, my wife surprised me with Scratch That and I absolutely love it. The way the photos pop and the small details you added to the recipes - it’s *chef’s kiss.* I loved reading the background about your adventure in Sweden, and how everything fell into place for where you ended up. Reading about how you dared to be bold and stood up for your ideas was inspiring, and learning so many behind the scenes details made me see you in a new light. I’ve always enjoyed your content, and I’ve loved seeing you thrive with Zoya (especially since I met my wife around the same time!). Even if you aren’t on the best-seller list, your work is incredible, inspiring, fun, and appreciated by so many. Thanks to you I’ve started to really enjoy cooking and trying new recipes! Can’t wait to see what you do next ☺️

Thank you for the reminder that it is important to share your tribulations as much as your triumphs. Most people are afraid to want things too much. People don't do things to connect, or to progress or express... people do things to achieve now and its unfair to all the love and efforts we put into our lives just because we didn't get the reaction we believe is socially accepted. You Won already now to get the numbers. Its just the next goal. Im literally just writing to myself because this resonates so whole heartedly with my process that if you've never posted or share this -- I don't know when these feelings I have would have been validated by someone else through their own experience. I appreciate you making me recognize my passion does not need outcome. It needs more passion and attention just not in the ways we were brain washed to believe. As I purchase your cook book today to impress my new found boyfriend I want to kindly remind you -- I have been taking in your experiences for years. I have followed your growth and love for food and its given me peace on the days I simply couldn't get there on my own. Thank you Alix for sharing.

So I got rejected from vet school and just got laid off from my job at the vet and it literally felt like the world was telling me I don’t belong to the field I love. Thank you for this. You did the reframing my therapist and I have been trying to implement in my life. Thank you for sharing.

yesss, keep betting, keep going 🤍 you created something so beautiful that brings people together. and put your full self into this project. that's one of the most special things. i know it really hurts when our expectations, hopes, goals and dreams don't become a reality, but just keep going. always. life can be so unexpected sometimes. for better and for worse. you never know what ripple effects might come from creating your cook book, and any future projects. i know that you inspire me to put my full self out in the world and in my projects. and maybe that's a really small thing, but it's something. thank you for having the courage to share such a real and vulnerable piece
